GRAI Integrated Manufacturing Methodology

The GRAI-GIM methodology was begun at the University of Bordeaux in the 1970's. It was designed to help define a model of an Integrated Manufacturing System in order to specify a CIM System for subsequent purchase or development. Since this was done in conjunction with manufacturing industry partners, there is a strong emphasis on discrete (e.g. parts manufacturing) CIM concepts. Another major concept is the definition of re-useable modelling elements.

I am not aware of a web site or other "electronic" reference material, however you may contact G. Doumeingts at the University of Bordeaux.
