ENTERPRISE INTEGRATION CONCEPTS

There are only 3 major components of any enterprise:

  • Physical Plant
  • People
  • Information Systems

PERA provides a life cycle model which demonstrates how to integrate Enterprise Systems, Physical Plant Engineering and Organizational Development from enterprise concept to dissolution.

Since the physical plant is the most obvious component of an enterprise, many people think of a corporation only in terms of its physical assets.

However, although they do not show up on a balance sheet, people are often more important than physical assets to a company's long term competitive position.

Information, communications and control systems comprise the third component. Without an effective "nervous system" provided by a modern enterprise information and communication system, the enterprise will be sluggish and soon overtaken by more agile competitors.

PERA clearly defines the roles and relationships among physical plant, people, and information systems.
