What is OT Cybersecurity ?

Operational Technology (OT) involves both IACS (Industrial Authomation and Control Systems) and IT (Information Technology) systems at an industrial facility.

PERA defines OT as those systems that operate in both IT and IACS environments. This means systems that they operate above and below the plant firewall, using both industrial and office IT networks, devices and software. It also means that IT and IACS specialists must work together to design and maintain OT systems. This cooperation has historically proven difficult as specialists in each area rarely understand the challenges of the other.

We therefore use the term OT to indicate a system that requires collaboration between IT and IACS people

The following MLM (MicroLearning Module) explains this in more detail.
